Wow, i want to ask you what it was like to play with Double Trouble but damn, it's hard to even phrase a question intelligently...so i'll just kinda jump after it.
Tommy Shannon seems like the wise elder of some forgotten tribe of Native Americans...he seems to me to be a totally fatherly gentle wiseman, a very paragon of gentle manly strength. is that what he is like?
Tommy also seems to me to be the mother pluckin KING of sweet subtle masterly bass throb...damn, this is a man who knows how to back up a great guitarist and push a song. please describe what it felt like to play with Tommy.
And Chris Layton has got to be one of the best and probably THE best blues rock drummer alive. But i don't have a good impression of what he is like personally, so fill us in!
Come on, Andy, you're a great writer as well as guitarist...give us some words to make us feel for a second what it is like to play with these giants!
P.S. Yo Andy: i always read that Chris and Stevie were impressed in the early days with a record "Donny Hathaway Live". Do you know that record or anything about it? |
